We support the way children learn naturally by discovering the world around them and expressing themselves with stories, art, activities, and music.

From the earliest age, the children are taught the skills necessary to do things for themselves, satisfying the very young child’s desire to get started on the road to independence.

The Montessori Method provides practical activities that allow very young children to develop interpersonal skills with other children and with the adults in their lives.

At Little People Montessori, we partner with parents to help them see what is needed to challenge and support their children at home in the same way that we challenge them at school.

We provide parents with regular updates that include photographs, development notes, and information about Montessori principles that can be used in the home to continue the child’s development.

Our care of the child should be governed, not by the desire to make him learn things, but by the endeavor always to keep burning within him that light which is called intelligence
— Maria Montessori

Your children will want to be allowed to do things around the house like putting things away, cleaning up messes they have made, and setting the table for a meal.

They will want to help younger siblings. In fact, you may have to stop them from helping them too much!

Going for a walk will be more like a nature hike, as they will want to know about every plant, rock or animal they come across.

Since we use ASL, children will come home using the gestures to ‘talk’ to you. This may be their first language, if they are young enough, or a second language if they are already using a spoken language.
